The idea behind Wayworn started as a personal project. Years of travel photos and weekend trips to new and exciting places. All hidden within an ever growing photo library. The wedding in Italy. The weekend in Edinburgh. The road trip up the Pacific coast. All of it tagged with GPS data — and none of it connected.
The existing options were a tradeoff. The big travel-journal apps want you to plan a trip in advance, log it as you go, manually build your itinerary and add photos and videos. Or they want your data for ads. Or they require a subscription. Or both.
Wayworn does the opposite. It does the organising for you, on device. Your trips reassemble themselves from the photos you've already taken — every place, every day, every route. You can still add notes, thoughts or useful reminders but only if you choose to, your photos tell the story so you don’t have to.

How it's built
The Wayworn Philosophy
More than just waypoints.
Your location tagged photos should be so much more than just simple points on a map. Wayworn gives them meaning, identifying where and when they were taken, assigning place names to abstract coordinates. The result is carefully curated albums and trip itineraries, neatly organised by country, category, time and place for you to explore.
Live in the moment.
You should be free to enjoy every moment of your adventures without having to manually keep a record of all the places you visit. Just take photos of everywhere you want to remember, and in the following days/weeks/months, even years later, let Wayworn piece all the locations back together for you.
Not one-size-fits-all.
Wayworn has been designed to work for you - if you have a mix of non-GPS tagged photos in your album, you can easily add these to existing places. If the default Wayworn place matching is too broad, you can fine tune trip itineraries to your liking. If you want to track your own list of famous places or hiking routes, you can manually add or even import from common file sources.
